No, just pointing out that GW is all over the place w/ rules...and that the new FAQ is up, at least on the UK site.

I'm surprised that no one has said anything about this yet for 5th Ed. You may run OR fleet the turn you deep strike but you still can't assault, even if you have fleet... unless your a lictor.
I have more Tyranids than most people. However, most people don't have Tyranids so it doesn't say mush.

That's a good point about the Lictor. I'm new to Tyranids and I didn't realize how important that part about the Lictor being able to assault the turn it enters play was until this discussion.
The immortal Hive Mind has probed the galaxy and found it rich in prey.

They have been very careful about enabling the 'assault before your opponent can react' tactic. It's unfair in a lot of situations, hence them nerfing rhino rushes in 4th edition and how deep strikers have (for the most part, lictor being an exception) been carefully limited in their ability to go 'poof, gotcha'. Daemons are a bit of different story...

Fleet, in 5th edition, now allows for units to assault AFTER a run action in the shooting phase. This is the 'fix' they've made for 'faster' units in 5th edition to enable some sense of being able to catch their prey. I don't see this working terribly well but i've yet to play test so i'll reserve that opinion until it's proven.
