3/15/08 Apoc Battle!

Postby pszito » Sun Mar 16, 2008 6:21 pm

A most epic battle ensued in the gamespace last night! With high hopes and guns polished, the pick-up game rallied 8 players with 1000 points each to the two-table Apoc game. With a fair representation of armies divided into teams of 'good' and 'bad' guys, basically the forces of order vs. forces of disorder/destruction, a range of experience levels from new guys to hardened commander, add a dash of spirit with good food (they we ordered pizza), and you have yourselves a bonified Apoc game night!

I would like to thank all our players for both participating and generally being awesome people. I appreciated being notified ahead of time so i could anticipate what you all needed from me! The food was tasty, the dice were wonky, and the night was a blast! Oh and a very heart thanks for the parents who were willing to wait for turn 3 to roll over!

Photos are coming!

And now, time for crazy pictures!

*Clear field setup*

*Clear city setup*
Image
*Ah the quiet, serene streets of.... DOOM!*

*Just after deployment and the battle it taken to the city!*
Image
*'Jee serg, i don't know where to shoot it...'*
Image
*Salamanders arrive only to find they forgot their melta bombs*
Image
*There was pie... it indeed was an epic night*
Image
*The battle raged. The plans great. The dice wonky.*
Image
*The Dark Angels bum rushed the city gate before the Chaos could reinforce it as a choke point!*
Image
*Tonights specials are: Lictor Surprise with diced IG...*
Image
*The Hellavator, vertical CC is fun for everyone!*
Image
*Cheers from the Apoc crew*

In the end, turn three didn't seem to come soon enough! The Forces of Order pulled out a win with more objectives captured, despite the grim fate cast upon them by the overwhelming Stompa and friends!

Again, thank you all for participating. If there stands an interest to run such an event, I figure once a month on a Saturday wouldn't be a bad periodical. Gives armies time to grow, stratigize, and doesn't dominate the Saturday casual play.

What would people like?

Wow!

I'd love to get in on some of that action sometime. I just won a massive 'nid ebay auction, got myself five more carnifexes and two more hive tyrants, along with various and sundry other ridiculousness. But a big stompy swarm like that demands an apocalypse table!

The doom!

Hey all! I would like to extend my thanks to EVERYONE who made that crazy night possible! I haven't had that much fun playing a big game in a long time. Even though the forces of evil.... and Giant robot lost that day it didn't matter. I was like partying with good friends! A monthly Apocalypse game sounds great! One question, are we going to be switching up the teams at all? or are we gonna stick to the good versus evil?
Chaos consumes us ALL!
